Eligibility
Ensure you meet the requirements before donating blood
Basic Requirements
- ✓ Age: 18-65 years
- ✓ Weight: Minimum 50kg (110 lbs)
- ✓ Good general health
- ✓ At least 8 weeks since last donation
Temporary Deferrals
- ✗ Cold or flu symptoms
- ✗ Pregnancy or recent childbirth
- ✗ Recent tattoos or piercings
- ✗ Certain medications
Health Conditions
- • Diabetes (controlled)
- • High blood pressure
- • Asthma (mild)
- • Previous surgery
Travel History
- • Malaria areas: 3-12 month deferral
- • UK residency: 6 month deferral
- • COVID-19: 14 days post-recovery
